Personal courses in hand weaving are offered by the Museum-Workshop during the period from May to September. The student has the opportunity of working on the same historic looms that we use in the production of our textiles and courses can be taken on a daily or weekly basis.

Using the pedal looms, you can learn the typical techniques that were used by the Umbrian rural women, which are characterised by bright geometrical designs.

Using the Jacquard looms, you can create with your own hands, an ancient damask piece utilising an original technique from the 1800s and at the same time, you will come to understand how the first “computer” in the world worked.
